Donald Grant Orr Jr. was born March 9th, 1977 in Vancouver, BC. Canada. The son of a fighter, Donnie Boy was in the ring at a young age. He was raised in Victoria, BC, where he honed his ring skills under the tutelage of his father, Donnie Sr. Donnie enjoyed a remarkable amateur career that he finished with a record of 137-11. His decorated amateur career was highlighted by two National Championships, a medal in the Francophone Games, a win and Tournament MVP in the prestigious Blue and Gold Tournament, and a gutsy win with a broken thumb that landed him a spot on the Olympic Team and a trip to the 2000 Sydney Games.
After taking some time away from the ring Donnie decided to try his hand, or both hands for that matter, in the professional ranks. Refreshed and with a rejuvenated love for the sport, Donnie relocated to Las Vegas and fought, literally, his way into Hall of Fame referee Richard Steele's acclaimed gym. Donnie was then signed by Cappiello Promotions and has found a new home and new fans in the Irish community of South Boston. With his only setback's being a few minor injuries, Donnie is headed toward title contention in a middleweight division latent with talent. With 15 fights, 15 wins, and 6 big wins coming by way of knockout, the future is looking bright for this soft spoken kid from Vancouver Island.
